General Information

Effective 16th April, 2015 Air India Air Transport Services Ltd (hereinafter referred to as AIATSL) wholly owned Subsidiary Company of Air India Ltd has been appointed as Custodian. As a Custodian, AIATSL looks after total cargo activities that is from the stage of receipt of export shipments in the warehouse till placed on the aircraft with regard to export cargo and from the stage of import shipments being received from the flight till delivery to the consignee with regard to import activities. Facilities are available for acceptance and storage of all kinds of cargo including special cargo, perishables, dangerous goods, cargo requiring cold storage, valuables, live animals, heavy odd size cargo. To electronically interact with its trade partners AIATSL has developed its own Cargo Custodian Website. With this, Agents, Handled Airlines, Bank, Customs, Importers and Exporters will be able to interact with the Custodian through a single web based platform.

General Exports Warehouse : Working Hours – 24 x 7 basis

Acceptance and binning of General and Special Cargo (Dangerous goods, Valuables, Cold Storages) for AIATSL and Customer Airlines is done here. Export shipments of customer airlines are carted to respective warehouses.

APEDA (Agricultural Processed Food Product Development Authority)
A state of art facility is available for perishable cargo, such as, vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood and vaccines, news papers, live stock etc.
Total Area: 2800 Sq meters. approx: Temp 18 Degrees C
It has nine separate chambers where temperature can be computer controlled to minus degree Celsius, as per requirement.
AIATSL handles Perishable Cargo for its 07 Customer Airlines and 27 Non Customer Airlines.

While we invite all to make use of our services through the website, we also endeavour to help you out with effective functioning and usage of the website. At present it is for use in Mumbai and for Registered users only. However, Non Registered users can access limited features like General Information/Terminal Warehouse Charges/FAQ’s on website cargo.airindia.in

Q 1. How to register?

Registration Process:
The Registration form should be filled up and submitted to Air India.
  1. Users are requested to fill valid E-mail ID and Phone Number(s) in the Registration form.
  2. Air India’s registration office will ascertain the correctness of the details submitted.
  3. Users are requested to change the password after your registration is approved.

Q 2. How do I Login?

Login process: Type USER ID and PASSWORD and submit.

Q 3. How to create Air Waybills on the Custodian Website?

Key in process for use of exporters. Export – AWB Details:
Enter following details as listed below:
After the User logs in, he can go to the box “Add new AWB”
This will display a mask for details to be filled up.
  1. AWB Number (As in Airway Bill Copy)
  2. Type of Cargo "General" or "Apeda"
  3. Agent/Shipper name
  4. Airline
  5. AWB date
  6. Destination
  7. Commodity type from the choice given in the drop down display
  8. No of packages/Gross Weight/Chargeable weight
  9. Add additional row if required or click “sum” for total and submit
Q 4. How do I apply for a Carting Order?

After the user submits, he can click home to get back to see if his request is online. Now click on ‘Carting’. This will give you a mask to make a request for CO and submit. Go back ‘home’ and click on ‘shipping bills’ this will give you a mask to enter your shipping bill details and submit.

The Cargo Sales section Air India releases carting Orders online.

Q 5. When do I enter Shipping Bill Details?

When Carting Order request has been placed, the ‘home’ screen will give you a picture of the status of all the your requests. When SB details shows ‘waiting’, you can go into the SB mask by clicking on the SB icon and fill up the SB details for purposes of matching with details received from Customs.

Q 6. How do I create a TSP receipt?

Export – TSP Payment:
On the home page the User can view from the AWB status on the screen that the carting order is confirmed, with the flight number and shipping bill status as confirmed and TSP box with a ‘create’ button. Click on this box and you will be able to view the TSP screen for the amount payable by you.
At this stage, you can even create Advance TSP Receipt one day (24 hours) prior excluding Customs Holidays. In case of Advance TSP Receipts, please ensure that the correct date is selected.
Once you have established the correctness of the receipt, click on the box ‘PAY NOW’ and the screen responds with ‘please print this page for future reference’. Remarks column is for use of Custodian staff only

Q 7. How many copies of the TSP receipt do I require?

As the TSP receipt also acts as a Gate Pass, please print out 3 copies.
  1. One to be submitted at the gate, to the Security,for bringing the cargo into the warehouse.
  2. One to be attached to the export documents, which also acts as a receipt for the cargo and documents received by the custodian.
  3. One for the Airline for record purposes.
User can click the details box in the home page against his consignment number. This will take him to the ‘edit consignment details” page. This page is an overview of the all details submitted by the user with provision for editions and submissions, viz., Packaging details, TSP details and Shipping Bill details. The History will display all transactions taken place for the consignment.

Q 8. How do I cancel a TSP receipt created?

A TSP receipt created cannot be cancelled. However you can create a new TSP receipt for that AWB. This will automatically void the earlier TSP receipt and adjust your PD account accordingly. Please note that the system will not allow you to recreate a TSP receipt if the CARR transaction has already been done by the Custodian on his desktop application.

Q 9. Can a TSP receipt be reprinted?

Yes, a TSP receipt can be reprinted. Key in your AWB number on Search AWB. Click ‘Details’ on your AWB. This will take you to the ‘Edit consignment details’ page. Click on ‘TSP details’. This will give you TSP details. Click on ‘View TSP’. This will give you the TSP receipt page. Click on ‘Print TSP’ for a reprint. Reprint of a TSP can be done, provided the TSP has not expired.

Q 10. What is the validity of TSP receipt?

A TSP is valid for the date on which it is created, upto 2359 hours (midnight). In case of Advance TSP Receipt is valid for the date for which it is created, upto 2359 hours (midnight).
When the consignment enters the Export shed, Customs signature is obtained on Annexure ‘C’ and CARR (cargo arrival message to Customs) is sent by the AIATSL Export Office when the documents are handed over to Export Office. A TSP is valid for the date on which it is created, upto 12 midnight.
In case cargo/docs not handed over to Export office on same day, a request letter has to be submitted to Exports Office to cancel the TSP receipt before 2359 hours (midnight). If the same is not done, the TSP will stand cancelled and the charges automatically forfeited.

Q 11. How can I edit shipping Bill details?

Click ‘Details’ on AWB, as stated earlier. On the ‘Edit consignment details” page, click on Shipping Bill. The SB mask opens up for further updates.

Q 12. How can I edit AWB number?

AWB number once created cannot be edited.

Q 13. What is CARR?

CARR is an EDI message sent by the Custodian to Customs for physical arrival of Cargo into the Exports shed. One copy of TSP receipt is handed over to the Custodian CARR counter adjacent to Customs Gate P.O, after obtaining signature on the Annexure ‘C’ from the Gate P.O.

Q 14. How do I open a PD Account?

For Registration on AIATSL’s Custodian website you should be a PD Account holder. To open a PD Account you are required to submit the following to the Manager Finance, Air India Finance Dept,Cargo Satellite Building, 2nd Floor ,Cargo Complex ,Sahar, Andheri (E), Mumbai-400 099.

  1. Covering letter in the format given below on your company’s letter head
    1. Name of the Organisation
    2. Address

  2. Copy of the CHA licence / IATA registration certificate / I/E permit from Reserve Bank.
  3. Demand Draft / Bankers cheque drawn in favour of Air India Ltd., for a minimum of Rs. 10,000.
  4. Copy of the service tax registration number and PAN/TAN number
  5. Details of Monthly Transaction(TSP/Demurrage) in Import & Exports
  6. Initial Demand Draft
    1. Export Rs 10,000/-(Minimum)
    2. Imports Rs 1,00,000/- (Minimum)
    3. Exports & Imports Rs 1,00,000/-(Minimum)
      NB: The Demand Draft should be payable to AIR INDIA Ltd
Existing PD Account holders will do the following:
  1. Submit to the Accounts Manager, Air India Ltd, documents as stated above in point 14b.
  2. An online request for registration should be made through our website.
  3. On receipt of the above documents from Accounts, our GHA admin will approve the request for registration.
  4. After approval of the registration by our GHA admin, you can log into our website to request for Carting Orders and cut TSP receipts.
When the PD account balance touches 30% of opening balance. The PD account holder will receive following alert message from system "Your PD account has reached 30%. Please replenish your PD account". However he will still be able to issue TSP receipt
When PD account reaches 10% of opening balance, the agent will receive following message from system "Your PD balance has reached 10% .You are not allowed to issue TSP receipt. Please replenish your PD account".

Q 15. How do I view my PD Account reports ?

After login into the custodian website click on 'View Reports' This will display a fill up Ledger Report mask with drop down calendar displays. Click on the relevant From and To dates by updating the calendar and submit, to view your reports.

This is a facility desk for our users in cases of any difficulties faced by them, either during registration or TSP issuance. Contact numbers as below:
